New Concrete Driveways
On new homes the driveway is often one of the last exterior items. We work with homeowners and builders to tie the driveway into the garage slab, the street or lane approach, and the finished grades around the lot.
Driveway Excavation & Site Preparation
Excavation is where Delta Concrete started, and it is the part of driveway work that is hardest to fix later. We excavate to the required depth, remove soft or unsuitable material, and place and compact base before any forms go in.
The driveway also has to shed water. Its slope is set in relation to the garage, the house, and the surrounding grading, so runoff moves away from the foundation rather than toward it.

Why Site Preparation Matters
Most driveway settlement and heaving problems trace back to what is underneath: soft soil, insufficient or poorly compacted base, or water collecting below the concrete. Calgary's freeze–thaw cycles make those problems show up faster.
The right base depth, thickness, and reinforcement depend on the soil, the design, and how the driveway will be used. We confirm those for each project rather than applying a single standard to every lot. The same approach carries through our site preparation work.
